Mike Becvar

Mike Becvar is a professional children's entertainer, balloon twister and face painter located in Northern Virginia. He enjoys entertaining kids of all ages and is available to come to your event. Mike Becvar is insured through the World Clown Association. He is also a member of Clowns of America, International, the Mid-Atlantic Clown Association, and KIDabra.

Mike Becvar got his start many years ago by painting his own face for Halloween. He searched for ways to improve his own makeup skills and discovered the world of face painting. It also gave him the inspiration to go to Mooseburger Clown Arts camp in 2008 to learn how to be a clown. When clowning around, he goes by his clown name, Sir Toony Van Dukes.

Mike is very active with other Washington DC Metro area clowns and children's entertainers. He is a member of Just Clowning Around of Northern Virginia (JCA), and Kapitol Klowns. He also participates in area face painting and balloon twisting jams. He hosts a monthly balloon and face painting jam at Cici's Pizza in Chantilly.

Mike Becvar is also a senior multimedia, website and eLearning applications developer. In his free time, he likes taking pictures, acting, and working on the computer.

Mike has been a background extra in a number of training videos, small films, TV shows, and movies. He is also taking acting classes. In August 2007, he attended the New York Film Academy (NYFA) One-Week Acting Workshop at their Universal Studio California location. In February 2008, he started taking acting classes at the Studio Theatre in Washington, DC. He has taken classes in Improv, Actors Process, and Voice.

Mike is starting to learn how to ride the unicycle. He is taking lessons with the UniStars Unicycling Showtroupe in Fauquier County Virginia.

Mike is learning how to perform magic and is taking lessons from Barry Taylor at Barry's Magic Shop.

Halloween is Mike's favorite holiday. He has been decorating his driveway and dressing up for the neighborhood children for many years. He has twice won the Best Costume award at the South Riding Halloween Parade. His interested in Halloween and entertaining eventually led him towards becoming a clown.
